Finding Library Wifi Hot Spots
To find the Library's hot spots, click on your wireless icon in the taskbar.
If no icon is present:
- Click Start, Settings, then Network Connections
- Right click Wireless Network Connection and then click View Available Wireless Networks (a list of wireless access points appears in the Available Networks box)
- Click the LIBRARY SSID wireless network connection
- Click Connect
- Go to Web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari:
- Go to: http://www.tolibrary.org
- Go to: http://www.tolibrary.org
- The browser will redirect the page to the Wireless Internet Policy page, then click Agree.
- After the Session Authorized (in green), click on the link to go back the Library website.
Connecting with Different Operating Systems
Windows OS
- Right click My Network Places/Network Neighborhood
- Go to Properties
- Double click Wireless Adapter (or simply click on your vendor icon for the wireless adapter in the lower right hand tool bar)
- SSID (network name) = LIBRARY and a DHCP address will be allocated automatically
- WEP = disable WEP encryption
- Mode or Network Type = Infrastructure mode or access point
- Open a Web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer:
Go to: http://www.tolibrary.org and click to Agree to the Wireless Internet Policy to proceed to browsing the Internet.
MAC OS
- Click on System Preferences from the Apple Menu
- Double click the Network logo
- Under Show Menu select AirPort
- Close window
- Open Internet Connect and turn on AirPort
- From Network Menu select LIBRARY
- Open a Web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari:
Go to: http://www.tolibrary.org and click Agree to the Wireless Internet Policy to proceed to browsing the Internet.
