Online Code of Conduct


The Library is pleased to provide Virtual Programs via online platforms, which users may access and utilize. The following code of conduct is provided to assist staff, volunteers, and users in promoting a safe and welcoming environment for all. By participating in this Virtual Program event utilizing access through the Thousand Oaks Library server, I agree to adhere to the following Online Code of Conduct:

  1. All participants/players will behave responsibly and respect the rights and dignity of other participants, players, and users.
  2. Offensive, hateful, and obscene language is not permitted. Avoid using language, nicknames, or other expressions that insult another participant’s race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, origin, physical ability, sexual orientation, religion, or age.
  3. Bullying, threatening, intimidating, or other aggressive verbal or physical behavior toward others is prohibited.
  4. Cheating or hacking is not permitted.
  5. Avoid sharing account information or any other private information that could place you or your peers at risk.


Failure to abide by the Code of Conduct may result in any of the following:

  1. The issuance of a verbal or written warning to the offending user. If the offending user is a minor, the parent or guardian will be notified of the nature of the misconduct, either by letter or email.
  2. Immediate forfeit of a game or match due to misconduct.
  3. Player suspension from the entire match or restriction from participation in the program.
  4. Removal from the Library’s server and loss of all privileges.
